"Come fare folk seguendo un’indole personale e fuori dai soliti schemi. Lorenzo Bettazzi in questo senso non ha nulla da imparare, almeno a giudicare da un progetto discografico solista dalla marcata personalità. Un passato di militanza nei toscani Zenerswoon e un presente a nome Peckinpah, a collezionare dischi come l’esordio “On The Spur Of The Moment” e questo “That’s All Bad Folk”. In poche parole, il giusto mezzo tra blues (“Summer”), una Seattle versante Mark Lanegan, (“Elle” e “Call Me A Believer”), certi bassi tribali in stile Gun Club (“The Seed”) e un cantautorato deviante che richiama un America rurale poco luminosa in bilico tra Neil Young e Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy (“Drunken Lover”).

Pregio maggiore dell’arte del Bettazzi, il saper attingere da immaginari agli antipodi per poi rimestarli in un calderone di malinconie e impeto, scrittura inappuntabile e misura, tra una chitarra acustica e un pianoforte, una batteria e un’elettrica ruvida. Dando vita a un intimismo orgoglioso, non troppo stereotipato e al tempo stesso inspiegabilmente pop.
